N97 - Do you want one?

My friend, JT have finally bought the Nokia N97 today after comparing and querying for few hours. I was then checking out and exploring his new baby. And to my first impression towards this new Nokia N97, the smartphone actually looks sleek and stylish. It designed for the needs of Internet-savvy consumers and a very powerful smartphone indeed.

N97 Review:

Well, this new
Nokia N97 smartphone is certainly one of the best Nokia NSeries's mobile devices so far compared to the other NSeries. This smartphone features:
  • A 5 mega-pixel snapper. (Good picture quality, very detailed)
  • 3.5 inch VGA-quality display with video recording. (Perfectly sized for viewing videos & webpages)
  • A whopping 32GB worth of internal memory. (Really big memory space to store your favorite videos and songs)
  • On-board GPS with Nokia Maps (Supported by Garmin Mobile XT)
  • Built-in Wi-Fi (Surf the net whenever or wherever you go)
  • 3.5mm headphone slot / jack (Enable you to plug in your own earphones)
But more interestingly, it rocks up with a tilting touch-screen and a sliding QWERTY keyboard.

Nokia N97 is quite chunky to accommodate the QWERTY keyboard, but its 150g gives it a solid feel. The handset is quite user friendly as the touch screen is quite responsive to touch and the QWERTY keyboard is spacious making it easier and faster to type.

The widescreen display can be fully personalized with frequently updated widgets of favorite web services and social networking sites. The Nokia N97 is also perfectly suited for browsing the web, streaming Flash videos or playing games. Both the physical QWERTY and virtual touch input ensure efficiency in blogging, chatting, posting, sending texts or emailing.

The 32GB of internal memory is already massive but if you need additional internal space, the expandable memory card slots can hold data cards of up to 16GB in size, to store more music, photos, and videos. That’s a total storage limit of 48GB, which blows any other device clean out of the water.

The
Nokia N97 features a handy five-way navigation pad, which is ideal when scrolling through webpages or emails. Performance wise is near to perfecto aside from the sluggish zoom and the average battery life. The 3.5 inch VGA display eats up a lot of energy.

Price is @ RM 2xxx.

The Nokia N97 is a very strong contender towards the King of touch series - iphone. But overall, I think it is worthwhile to buy one. I'm getting one soon.
